Quality and inspection
Certification at company level tells a buyer very little. We inspect and certify at lot level, so the evidence refers to the goods actually in the container.
How we inspect
Against the lot, not the brochure
- Specification confirmed against the actual lot
- Halal certification issued per consignment
- Pre production and pre shipment sample rounds
- Inspection report issued to the buyer
- Third party and buyer appointed inspectors welcome
The specification on a contract and the goods in a warehouse are two different things until somebody checks. We check before loading, and the report goes to the buyer whether it is good news or not.
Halal certification follows the same principle. It is issued against your consignment rather than as a general company statement, so it holds up at the destination port.
Buyer questions
Inspection questions
Can we appoint our own inspector?
Yes, and we will coordinate access at loading. Tell us at the quotation stage so the schedule allows for the inspection window.
What happens if a lot fails inspection?
It does not ship. You are told what failed and given the option to wait for a replacement lot or cancel that line.
Do you issue the inspection report to the buyer?
Yes, as standard rather than on request.
Is the laboratory yours?
The grain quality laboratory is held within the MBMC consortium and is available to our supply chain. It is not a PT SAMCO facility and we do not describe it as one.
